The Joy of My Salvation

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. ~Habakkuk 3:18

Write a list of things you could do to help your family.

1) Clean up the yard.
2) Clean out the pool more often.
3) Wash the dogs more often.
4) Help clean up the kitchen and the school room.
5) And being nice to my brother and sisters.

Write a list of things you could do to help your family.

1) I could clean the bathroom.
2) I could clean the bedroom.
3) I could do tons of jobs.  And not just any jobs, but jobs that I'm not getting money for.  Maybe though I could then sleep with Julia when she comes back over.
4) I can help Momma and Daddy by keeping Kate from whining so much.  So Momma and Daddy won't get headaches from Kate.  And I'll try to be quieter too, maybe.
5) And maybe if Momma tells me what books she wants, I could buy her one when I got enough money.  I'm pretty sure I have enough money now.

3) Take care of our dogs.

6) Weedeat and help clean up the pond.
7) Cook more often.
8) I think my mom would like if I did my hair more.

Today I have another guest post from our niece Julia. Write a letter to your parents to try to convince them to let you do something.

Dear Mom and Dad,

I want to go fishing.  So, I will babysit my brother, I will not fight with Brystal for a whole day, I will work even harder in school, if we go fishing this weekend.  You'll have just as much fun being with our family and fishing as I will.  I will read one extra book too.

Please can we go fishing.  I hate being stuck in a house.

Love,
Julia

Dear Momma and Daddy,

I was wondering if maybe, since I'm almost done with my math book, and if I do really good with the rest of my school for the year, if I can then get ducks again.  I know I can only have 4 at a time, and I would have to work with Ember and Scout a little.  I think Scout remembers the ducks but I'm not for sure.  And Scout could have fun learning how to herd them.  I would help pay for them, by doing more chores, and helping out around the house some more.  And I would get my school work done faster, but working harder and not getting distracted as much, because I would want to go out and play with them  And since we can only have 4 at a time, we would have to buy feed as much, and we already have a container for it to go in.  And we already have special stuff to put in their water when they are little.  And since we are close to that lake, when we are not going fishing (since we can only go fishing with Daddy) then we could take the ducks down their to swim.  Or we could let them swim in the pool sometimes, we'll work really hard to clean it up with you.

Love,
Baby Ruth

Dear Momma and Daddy,

I would like to get the Nintendo Switch game called Pokemon DX.  The one time I played it, it was extremely fun.  It can be anywhere from one player to six players.  And the characters that you can play, my sisters also like, so they might want to play with me sometimes too.  And we can play online together.

I will help pay for it, and I will try really hard on not getting into fights with my siblings.  I will try really hard to help out more with the house.  I will pay for more than half of the cost.  I will try to do better about not complaining when I get a job I don't really want.  I will try to improve at washing dishes too.  I will ask Momma to help me out when they annoy me, instead of hitting them or yelling back.

Sincerely, your son,
Britt

Dear Momma and Daddy,

I am going to try to convince you to let me, Britt, and Ruth go out and play even with this stupid stinkin' coronavirus on.  I'm going to convince you.  I'm going to convince Britt, Ruth, and Julia to help me convince you to go out and do something.  Anyway.  So, my idea is to give them 100 million dollars.

So you are trying to Bribe us? -Momma
What does bribe us mean? - Rebecca
A bribe is where you give someone money so that you can do something that you wouldn't normally get to. - Momma
Yes!  I'm trying to bribe you, because we should get to do that. - Rebecca

So my idea is to give you and Daddy 100 billion dollars.  I'm going to get it by giving them back the same money they gave me.  So they really won't get that much money back, but still it will help.  I will only give it back though if they let us out.  HAHAHAHA!

I can't change lots of things, but I can choose how I react to this.  I can look on the bright side.  I can stay calm and keep working hard.  When I feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or upset, I can about what I do have and what I can do.  For example, if I'm frustrated that I can't go to GameStop for a new game, I can have fun with the game set I do have.  If I feel overwhelmed with math, I can think about what I will do with my free time when I finish up.  If I am upset about what someone else says about me, I can tell Momma and talk about it.  I don't have to get upset or respond immediately just because things are bad.

There is no answer to this for me.  I want to go play and get out of this stupid house.  But since I can't and since Julia wants to play more board game, maybe I can play Sequence with her.  Corona is stupid and I hate it.  Boo-hoo to not King Coronavirus like that guy from Church said.

I wish we didn't have to live through the Corona.  No one basically wants to.  I don't think anyone would want to.  I wish Corona wasn't even found.  I kinda don't want anyone to pass because everyone deserves to live.  We would never pick to live when an illness or something like that comes along.  This is also a chance to spend time with family.  The worst part is it takes forever to do school.  But we do get to sleep more.  Something I want to use my time to do is play more board games instead of electronics.

I'm not sure what to write about this topic.  I don't particularly want to live through Coronavirus, but it's not that bad either.  We just all have to stay at home.  We have had to do that before hurricanes and tornadoes.  Everyone has to live through hard times, this is just one of them.  Other people have always had hard times mixed with good times.  And there are some things we can only do now, because of the Coronavirus.  We might not get to spend as much time with people, but we get lots of extra time to finish crafts.  So with the time that is given to me, I am not sure what I should do with it, but I'm not going to worry.

How has the Corona Virus affected your life?

Happy Side:
1)  It's much funner with Julia here.  At least she is here.
2) We get to do Julia's art, her music, her PE, and her science that is fun to do.
3) Julia helps me with my spelling sometimes, and reads my math problems for me.  It's fun to do school with her.
4) We get to make projects after school.  I made gauntlets like Britt, and we battled Daddy.  We won for the first time ever since he couldn't get me on the ground.
5) Remember in Britt's list, when he said maybe we could play more games with Daddy.  I think we have, and that's a good thing.  Momma, Ruth, Britt, and Julia can join in too, if she is here.

Bad Side:
1) Now we have more school, because we don't have to cut anything out, because we don't get to go anywhere.
2) Daddy has to work more and we don't see him as much.
3) We can't go anywhere.  It's boring.  And when Momma goes somewhere Britt is in charge.  I think Julia should be in charge because she's more mature.  But in some ways Britt is funner, and I like having him as a brother.
4) I am tired of being in the same house.  I want to go to Memaw's house, or play with my friends, or meet a real Indian, or go on an adventure across the sea.
5) Anyway, I want to do stuff and get out of the house.  I want to play and go to Church and go see Evelyn and her come play at our house.  I can't do anything, I'm bored of Nintendo and the Wii, and the games we can play (most of them I can't play).  No one with your brother and sisters to play with is terrible.  We should go to the movies and get a ton of popcorn.

How has the Corona Virus affected your life?

1) Julia gets to stay with us a few days a week.  It is great.  I hope she can do this for at least 3 more months.  It looks like Julia is enjoying it, but in some ways I'm not sure.  It's nice to have Caesar around the house.  I like doing Julia's music teachers, they are extremely funny.  And it is fun to know that she is almost done with school when we are.  I like Julia doing our school too, because it's fun to have an extra hand on projects, I'm just wondering where she was when we were doing the really hard Egyptian project with all that coloring.
2) We can do anything.  I miss seeing my friends, and going to Church.  And everything about Church I miss.
3) We can also spend more time with our family and the dogs.  We might be able to play more board games with Daddy.
4) Ruth seems to be having a lot of fun having fun with Julia and doing more board games.  She's not as cranky sometimes, even though she didn't say there was anything good about this time.
5) I miss going to the library.  It's hard to check out books when I can't see them, only looking for them online.  I miss Pokemon Club at the library, and my Pokemon miss it too.  I am missing my Link book series too (graphic novels) because the library that has them, isn't doing any checkouts right now.
6) I also miss playing with the neighbors and having the slight chance of seeing friends out somewhere.
7) I miss eating out.
8) I don't like that the mall closed so we can't go to the nearest Game Stop, and Daddy was going to take me there to get a new game or two with my money.
9) I also miss coop a lot and getting to see Ben, and Simon, and Ruby, and all the others.  I wish Zoom was a little better, but all in all it was pretty good.  So I'm glad we could do co-op that way last week.  But I felt hurt, when I got muted (Britt giggling.  Momma:  I wish I could mute you in real life like that.  Britt laughs some more.)
10) I'm disappointed about the fact that we can't go to Disney World.  We were going to be going soon, before all this Corona virus stuff came up.
11) And we didn't get to go see Ahna and Grumps or Grandmother and Granddaddy last month like we planned.
12) I wish I wasn't cooped up like a chicken. Ba-Cah (his lame attempt at a chicken sound).
13) I am glad I get to drive a lawn mower though, it is a sense of freedom before a car, even though I'm cooped up.

How has the Corona Virus affected your life?

1) Something good is that I get to be with my family and cousins.  Being with family more often.  Getting to know more about your family.  I like that I get to spend more time with my Daddy because he is home right now.
2) My school has changed, that's good.  I like how Aunt Dani does Roman history.  My school doesn't have history, that much.  It was just with reading basically.  I like that.  Art is different, the whole computer thing is different.  But it's fun too.  I love Zoom with Ms. Means.  Zoom is fun because I get to sort of face time them, and normally computers don't have that.  I don't get to see the kids in my class though, I don't like that part.
3) There is better food, at my house and Aunt Dani's house than at school.  (Aunt Dani:  You get like 400 snacks a day.) I get more snacks, but not 400.  The pizza at school was disgusting, it was worse greasy than Pizza Hut.  The school doesn't cook it all the way, it's doughy.  I do miss the brownies, cake, with all kinds of icing though.
4) We get to build cool things like a Zeotroph or an Aqueduct for history.  Ruth and I made some faerie stuff with the hot glue gun after school yesterday.  I like the projects.
5)  I don't have to be with the kids that I don't like at school.

How has the Corona Virus affected your life?

1) It's boring and there is nothing to do.  I can't play with anyone.  And I have nothing to do.
2) It is good that Julia can come over, and maybe she can be homeschooled with us forever.
3) I had my first phone doctor's appointment.  I didn't like it or dislike it.  But, Momma didn't mind not having to drive to it.
4) I get to stay home with my brothers and sisters more while Momma is running short errands.  I like that a lot, but I want to be in charge instead of Britt.
5) We have to do Church online now, and every now and then Daddy gets to go.  I wish I got to go though.  I hope we can go back soon.  I'm going to see everybody, sing, eat together, and do handshake finally.

I am afraid of... because...

I am afraid of the dark because anything could appear right above you, below you, beside you, or anywhere and you wouldn't know it.  Cause it is so dark, you wouldn't be able to see anything.  That's why I am use to sleeping at night with a whole bunch of lights on in my room.  I'm also scared of walking outside at night, because anyone could come right up and snatch me.  But maybe I would like that if they had a trampoline or a pool.  Anyway back to the things I am afraid of.  Also things I am afraid of is when Britt and Ruth pop out of somewhere and go boo.  They do that lots of times.
