Florida Strawberry Festival
(Walking around the dairy barn, above. Practicing their serious face, below.)Today we went to the Strawberry Festival. Britt had a ball taking in all the sights and sounds, and he babbled the entire way home to us about what all he thought of it. We made it there a little before 11 this morning, and wandered over to the dairy show. We got to see the dairy cattle and the pigs. Then we looked through the Horticulture tent and saw the chickens and rabbits. Britt kept pointing to the chickens and going "cluck, cluck." Then we went back over to the dairy show since it had started, and Britt got very excited to see all the cows in the ring and started going, "moo, moo, moo." Next we wandered around through all the shops and such before we grabbed a Polish dog and some cheese sticks for lunch. We wandered around a little more and had strawberry shortcake for dessert, until we decided Britt needed to go home for a nap, because he wouldn't stay asleep in the stroller. So around 3:30 we headed back to the house.
(Britt didn't eat much Strawberry Shortcake, but that's ok cause it left more for me and Gary.)
About 6 we headed back to the fair, and as the sun set it went from toasty to cold really fast. We had dinner a Philly cheese steak sandwich and some funnel cake, and saw a few shows. Home Depot sponsored a new one - Paul Bunyan and the Lumberjacks. Then of course there was the bluegrass band. It was a great day, though Britt and I were PLENTY exhausted by the time we got home a little after 9. Sorry for the lack of pictures we had a camera malfunction about half way through the day.
