Interesting Cat Names

We all know that I have about a billion cats hanging out back here so they need names to be registered spayed and all of that stuff. So I'm annoucing a game/contest/whatever to come up with interesting cat names. Here are the exciting divisions...

Biblical Names
For example...
Silas and Paw

Siamese Names

Female Names

Male Names

Remember funny is good, very good.

(Warning: Sis. Kelly inspired this post and as a result is probably already ahead in the crazy Biblical Names)

I'm not too much of a pet person, but I really like it when pets have very formal names (rather than Spot and Fluffy type names)
Some of my favorites:
Ishmael
Mephibosheth
John
Charles
Abraham
Fernando

I don't really have any good female names.

Aside from my two funny Bible names (Meowchizedek and Bartholomeow) I really don't have any thing!

I think you are on to something with Paw and Silas... when there are two or more in the litter, it would be kind of fun to name them as famous bible duos (Annanias & Sapphira for example).

I do think in the case of orange tabbies that they should get names appropriate for their color (such as mandarine)...

Following Sister Kelly's lead, how about...

Clawdia?
Hissekiah?
Meowlachi?

I know. I'm groaning too.

Oh, I like that idea. I think the name should fit the cat and its personality... so pictures would greatly help!

The shelter named my cat Penelope before I went to pick her out. And, she has pretty orange/coppery colored long hair, so I call her Penny. I think that name worked out well.

Hmmm...let's see...I was never creative with my cats' names as a child (we had Stray, Blackie, Brownie, and White Spots...genius, huh?), so I'll give it a second try...

Male Names: Captain Kidd, Barbosa (going with a pirate theme, here), Sir Francis Drake

Female Names: Nymphodora, Mimosa, Buttercup, Jasmine

Biblical Names: Copurrnicus

I would love to see pictures, too!

While I DO love Biblical names for pets, I personally think they should be reserved for dogs (Pawl or Nebuchadnezzarrrrr come to mind). I really like to name cats after members of my family, especially the PB family. My husband had one named Jim, named after his pastor, for example. So, how about James and Audrey for kittens from the same litter?
