Sing at the Chastains

The Sunday that we came back from Alabama was a crazy busy day. We left my parents around just after 10pm central time, and made it to our house at 15 till 10am eastern time. We had just enough time to bath, change clothes and load back up in the car. Staying focused during church was a little of a challenge with our two squirmy kids and Lilli sitting with us that morning. Plus we were obviously tired. Thankfully Grandmaw Bea and Poppa J offered to take the kids to their house for a few hours that afternoon so we could get a nap in. Britt asked after me a few times, but he settled down and was really good for them, thank goodness. Gary and I got a 3 hour nap, and then we were ready to go again.

Bro. Ralph and Sis. Sue invited everyone over for a sing at their place. It's been forever since we've had a sing with the Church at someone's home. In fact, I'm thinking the last one we had was over at the Miller's back when Britt was just a few months old. Anyway, a sing was long over due. We were the last ones to arrive (after all they were visiting while we were napping), so thye started singing not long after we arrived. We sung about, oh, an hour I guess, before we broke for snacks. Sis. Sue and her daughter Sis. Elin really put together a great spread, everything was so good. Of course we all visited after that. One of the highlights of the evening was catching up with Bro. Joe and Sis. Elin (who we don't see anywhere near often enough). Gary has said if we end up getting one of these jobs in Indiana being near them would be worth the move and the miserable cold winters. Of course as always, the evening was a reminder of just how blessed we are with Church family and times of fellowship.
