The blessings didn't stop there however, the Lord truely visited us in our services as well. The song service was uplifting, the prayers were heartfelt, and the sermons truely moving. Before I talk about the one that most impressed me, I will have to ask your forgiveness for the sparcity of details. I remember things by writing them down, and with a 3 week old one's note taking ability is serious limited by going out for feedings and having to hold Britt to keep him quiet at times. Also, almost all the pictures in this blog were stolen from others off of Facebook, as I was too occupied to get any for myself.There were a few sermons in particular that stood out to me from this weekend. Both of the ones preached by Elder Tim Montgomery and the one preached by Elder Michael Green.

Bro. Michael's sermon was the one that stuck out to me most and he preached on Friday night. He talked about that our help comes from the Lord, that we should trust in Him. He began by contrasting the scribes and Pharisees with the Cannanite woman in Matthew 15. The scribes and Pharisees were looking to the law, trusting in their own works; where as the Cannanite woman looked to the Savior seeing herself as nothing. She humbled herself before Christ and knew what she was. He quoted Psalms 121, 46:1-5, and 20:7-9 to point out to us that God is always watching over us and will preserve us, he is present to help us quickly, and He is far better than the strength of men. He closed by telling us that we should be like the Publican in Luke 18, realizing from where our help cometh and being humble before our God.

To me this sermon was a great reminder. I am often guilty of knowing that God is able, but failing to truely trust in him that he will perform. An elder once told me that it's great that I believe in God, but that I should also trust in his word. This sermon was an excellent reminder of that for me.
