The Joy of My Salvation

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. ~Habakkuk 3:18

Several of us PB gals got together Friday for a night out. We mostly all met up at Sis. Kerry's then treked over to the Pizza Palace for dinner. They had all kinds of awesome stuff, including the best hot sandwhich/hoggie/thing I've ever eaten. It was amazing. We also got the best video ever of Hannah and Rachel eating super salted lemons.
Then we went down to watch Anne of Green Gables on the stage. It was great, and the ice cream song is stuck in my head. There were great things that had to cut that we all talked about afterwards, when we went to Denny's for ice cream, coffee, pie, or hot chocolate.
We had entirely too much fun for one evening and can't wait to do it again. For more pictures check out Sis. Kerry's blog.

As some of you may know this past weekend Katie Beth and Jeff got married. Several of us from down this way (aka us and the Abernathy's) made the trip up to Headland, AL to be there for her. It was a beautiful wedding, and of course with so many good friends singing PB style for the wedding at was a great get together as well.

I was able to get a couple of pictures of Katie during the wedding from where we were sitting. Pardon if they are a little blurry as I had the flash off.

Then there were some crazy pictures taken of and by singers afterward.
Mr. Eddie put together one awesome reception with alot of boiled shrimp, ummmm my favorite, and good old glass cokes, ummmm Gary's favorite, with peanuts to put in the bottom.
You would have thought that the wedding was sponsered by Coke-cola and that they were filming commericals...
Finally, we said goodbye to Katie and Jeff right before they went. As they drove off we sang "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" and "God Be With You Till We Meet Again." We had a wonderful time, and wish them the best in their life together. It was a beautiful day for a wedding in South Alabama. (PS - Yes, she did really wear her cowboy boots, not just with her going away outfit, but with her wedding dress.)

We are pleased to announced that Lilli has arrived safe and sound. Joan was induced at 7:30 this morning and Lilli was born at 10:50. She weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. and measured at 19 3/4 in. long. By all appearances both Joan and Lilli are healthy. Joan's just a bit sore, as she went from 4 to 10 cm in about 45 minutes and just went to fast for the epidural. Lilli scored an 8 and a 9 on her APGAR. Thanks again for all the prayers on their behalf.

I have needed to update the prayer list, and finally, look I've done so!

Baby Nate Ferrel is having more testing. The doctors appear to be getting closer to some answers. Meanwhile Nate is standing on his own and pulling himself up. Still the cutest little boy I have ever seen.

Elder Buddy Abernathy is struggling after being taken off some powerful medicine. He and the family have had a hard time with this, and from what the doctors say, it may take him 6 mons to a year to fully be off the medication, please continue to pray that the Lord would remove this from him and until then that he and the family would be strengthened.

Erich Wouters is the father of Blaire, Lee, and Austin, some great PB friends from Bro. Charles Kitchen's church (some of you know them). His wife, Sis. Sharon told me today that he has just been diagonost with lymphomia (I think I'm spelling that right). They will be doing a bone marrow biopsy soon on him, and hope to begin chemo on Oct. 1. He and the family will be having a really tough time through Christmas, please be in prayer for all of them.

Please remember Joan Ellen Cunningham and Lilliana Grace, as Joan will be induced Monday Sept 22, if she hasn't gone into labor before then.

Parker Allen continues to show improvement but it is slow. His family, particularly his mother (as she is taking care of him at home full time now) is under some strain and tired. Please pray for strength for them as well as for Parker's improvement.

Finally, as far as I know the rest of us pregnant ladies, Sis. Kelly Spezzano, Sis. Liz York, and me, are all doing well.

So I have some catching up to do. See there are so many baby like things to be done, and organization stuff, that I haven't been online. Also, there are days when I would be content to sleep for about 18 hours so sometimes when I do slow down I take naps. Needless to say I've slacked on blogging a bit. Hopefully we will get back to it. I started by up loading all of the pictures that Hannah needs to blog for our quilting (aka now it's her fault if they don't get posted soon). Now to catch all of you up on the daily happenings around here.

Back on Saturday, August 30, we got together for a wii day here at the apartment. We being Justin, Sara, Rachel, Hannah, and Kelly. The Abernathy girls were very excited that we had bought Mario Party 8 and that they had a new game to play. Me and Kelly liked it because we didn't have to jump around like crazy pregnant ladies. As usual, Gary got way into the games, while Justin was much more mellow... infact he took two naps during the day. Meanwhile, Hannah and Rachel were just plan weird.

Gary cooked lots of quesadillas and Justin provided lots of candy, when you add in the caffine from the cokes from the girls it was no wonder what happened next. (Only Sis. Kelly was thinking smart and brought veggies and cheese. Good healthy stuff.) Rachel and Hannah snuck into our bedroom where the computer was on, and opened Facebook, where they changed my status to read, "Danielle is going to change her son's name to Huckleberry Britt!!!" Needless to say they lost alot of Huck Bucks for that stunt. Then then proceeded to try to get sneaky, and put the cats in the room with Gary, so he locked them on the back porch, and later wrestled with Rachel over the cats and his hat.

Rachel had one more insane moment apparently; she finally succeeded in stealing Gary's hat, and seemed to enjoy the Kit-Kats a little too much...

I haven't. I remember sitting in Junior English when Woody Allen walked in and told Mrs. LeMay the news. I remember her telling him that she was going to go to the principle over such outragous stories. I remember walking through the library doors, just in time to see a tower fall. I remember sitting in second block in the biology lab around the big screen tv with a couple of other classes, still in utter disbelief. I think it may have been the only time that we whispered with out being told to. I remember sitting in history class at the end of the day and while we watched the news, Mrs. Reich told us about the unstablity in that part of the world. It was the first time that I thought I knew how people felt when the news of Pearl Harbor came out.
I remember, and I am thankful for those who give there lives to insure that such a thing never happens again on American soil. I'm thankful for those I know who have left family to serve, and I'm thankful for the many that I don't know who serve for all of us even though they don't know us.
I believe that this country was founded on great principles that all had a right to be free, that there are times when you sacrifice for the greater good, and that we should always strive to be better, to be right. I am proud to be an American and I am proud of our men and women in uniform.
