Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. ~Habakkuk 3:18

The Elves Antics from 2018:

Day 1, 11/25, Special Delivery

Day 2, 11/26, Eating Dog Cookies

Day 3, 11/27, Elf Zoo

Day 3, 11/27, They broke out and imprisoned the cranky dog.

Day 4, 11/28, Sledding down the stairs.  Garfield appears terrified.

Day 6, 11/30, The Elves brought supplies for the kids to make snowflake cards for family.

Day 7, 12/1, The Elves and Santa in a horse race, though how a rocking horse beat out a reindeer is beyond me.

Day 8, 12/2, Just hanging out at the house.

Day 9, 12/3, The Elves wanted their own little tree.  Problem is that they chopped down ours.

Day 10, 12/4, Stuck in the blender.

Day 11, 12/5, Sliding down the banister into a streamer tree.

Day 12, 12/6, Sack Race

Day 13, 12/7, Mistletoe and Jingle playing with Pokemon cards, while Peppermint sips tea and Twinkle lovingly gazes at Santa who she is missing.

Day 15, 12/9, Christmas pasta cooking, supper in red, green and white.

Day 16, 12/10, Hiding in the pantry.

Day 17, 12/11, They made a canned goods Christmas tree.

Day 18, 12/12, The kids found the elves in home made tire swings.  For them all they needed was some canning rings and string.

Day 19, 12/13, Attack of the Dinosaurs.

Day 20, 12/14, We are watching you.  They added googly eyes to EVERYTHING in the fridge.

Day 21, 12/15, Looks like the elves are feeding bread to the ducks.  Don't they know that's not good for ducks?

Day 22, 12/16, Who ever heard of ice fishing in Florida.

Day 23, 12/17, They built a fort out of toilet paper.

Day 24, 12/18, They brought some Christmas tree snack cakes for the kids, and an extra to take to Lilli, their cousin.

Day 25, 12/19, Apparently the elves are just as much Harry Potter fans as we are around here.

Day 26, 12/20, Two of the Elves were caught by Aragog tonight.

Day 27, 12/21, The Elves showed the kids how they make mini oreos.

Day 28, 12/22 Silly String Battle

11-25, 18 Months old
Katherine,

What a busy couple of months it has been.  On Saturday you were 18 months old! You are a busy little thing always on the go.  Rarely still, you run and walk and have now learned to climb on all sorts of furniture.  You have made a real habit of climbing up Grumps's legs into his lap in the last few weeks.  With lots of grunting and effort, it is increasingly hard to keep you off or out of anything.  I worry that you will figure out how to climb out of the pack and play or the crib soon.  Daddy doesn't want to move you out of the crib yet.

9-28, Little Helpers
10-28, With Momma

Around a year you just completely quit talking, other than using the word no.  I did hear mama twice this week for the first time in months and months.  We've started trying to teach you some signs since you seem to have no interest in talking.  You will wave bye, and you will run to the kitchen for a cup, and pat the fridge.  I've shown you please and hungry, but you aren't really using them yet.  It's obvious that you understand a lot though.  We thought we might have heard the word bye once this week.

11-26, Decorating the tree with Ahna.
11-18, Sitting with Ahna and Neela

You have learned to ham it up for the camera and always want to see the picture you took.  You have had fun discovering Christmas things again this year.  You have climbed on and off Grumps's sled, while refusing to take any pictures on it for me.  You have also had a lot of fun putting ornaments on or under the tree, and then removing them again.  You weren't much help when we decorated Ahna's tree for her, though you seemed to have fun.  You haven't messed with it too much since, though.

10-25, Happy Halloween
9-25, In bed for the night.

You are cutting the last of your teeth for a while now.  Your eye teeth.  You got your two-year molars already, but have 4 gaps where you have no canines.  You have finally started eating a little meat.  It's still very, very sporadic, but it's a start.  You've had a growth spurt in the last month or two, and I'm going to bump you up to the 24-month clothes when we get home.  You are long waisted like me.  So most of the pants are ok, it's the shirts that get too short.  And that curly hair just gets curlier and prettier.  Unfortunately, you haven't grown out of your fussing in the car seat.  We are going to try to break up the trip home doing part of it tomorrow and part of it on Sunday after Church.  It might prove to be two long days instead of one, but I'm hoping maybe you'll fuss less.

11-25, Grumps and Katherine
11-20, Locked herself in the dog pen with Neela.

You have been really good in Alabama with all the family.  You will have been here for 3 weeks, 10 days without me, and 10 with me.  You finally warmed up to Grandmother, and have gotten super attached to Grumps.  You have had days where you needed to be held all day, and Mother has asked me how I get anything done.  You are still much more reserved than the other kids, almost suspicious of other people until you get to know them.  It takes time for you to warm up to others, and it's a real work out to win you over.  But you have been better this trip about not needing only me for everything.  In fact, I think you missed Britt more than me.  You really lit up when you saw him for the first time.  I'm sure you'll be excited to see Daddy when we get home.

9-10, First Day of School
9-20, Breakfast with Brother
You love the game of in and out.  Put everything in, take everything back out.  For Christmas from Grandmother and Granddaddy, you got a little purse with keys and a phone and things.  You have played with it a ton this week.  You also like to play PeekaBoo and love to offer to give something to someone only to fake them out, while you laugh and run away.  You are still super attached to your little puppy, but you also really love a River Otter that we got at the Florida Aquarium on the field trip.  You also are very much into demanding any toy that anyone else has.  In the car, I just tell them to hand it over, the high pitched shrieking is bad enough, but it's something that I'm working on with you at home.

10-15, At the Florida Aquarium

You continue to bring us great joy, and spice up this parenting gig.
We love you, very much, Little Love.
Love,
Momma
11-23, Kate's first time playing in the leaves.
